Description

For sale is one (1) SurgeX ICE-20C 20A Inrush Current Eliminator with Independence Tolerant EMI/RFI Filtering and Remote Control Capabilities.  I purchased this for a home A/V project with multiple large power amplifiers. I have scaled back this project and I no longer need to hang onto this unit. The unit ships with a one 10 AWG male NEMA 5-20P/120 and female IEC 60320 C 19 120 power cord - see photos.  It requires a 5-20R/20A power outlet (with one blade turned 90 degrees) unless you use a 5-15P to 5-20R converter / cable which is not supplied.
How would you use the ICE-20C?
I still use several of these in my current AV setup. The ICE-20C is perfectly designed for controlling in-rush currents to large powerful audio power amplifiers in audio/video installations.  You can setup the ICE-20C to remotely turn on/off its load via a 12V "trigger" power source such as a pre-amp being turned on with a 12V trigger.  These units have the multi-pin green Phoenix connectors to interface with other SurgeX products or a simple 5-30V DC external trigger.  In the default factory configuration, they are set to control the inrush over 2-3 seconds after power is applied to the unit via the jumper between pins 1 + 2. These are perfect and built like a tank, for switching large audio power amplifiers on/off.
By controlling the turn-on in-rush current to the electronic circuitry, the ICE-20C can prolong the life of and reduce stress on the main power-supply capacitors of your valuable amplifiers!  To use the unit's remote turn on, you would connect an applied 5-30V DC voltage with the positive to ping 2 and the negative to 3.  These uses are explained in the Installation manual.
These units are Engineered and Made in the USA!
This unit's label indicates it was manufactured on 11/16/06 and serial number ends in 1597.
